About This Property
Cottar’s 1920s Camp lies in a private conservancy on the south-eastern edge of the Masai Mara, bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo. The camp recreates the golden age of safari with antiques, typewriters, ostrich eggs and brass campaign furniture.
White canvas en-suite tents sit under acacias with views over the plains, sleeping 28 guests. Off-road drives, night drives and walking safaris are possible in the conservancy, and the camp is well placed for the wildebeest Migration (roughly July to October).
Purpose-led experiences include time with an all-female conservation unit, medicinal plant walks and reforestation projects. The exclusive-use Cottar’s Bush Villa sleeps up to twelve and has its own 25 m pool.
Why We Love It
We love Cottar’s for its atmosphere. It is one of the most authentic classic safari camps in East Africa, with butler service and the freedom of a private conservancy.
Walking and night drives, which are not allowed in the main Serengeti or Mara reserves, make it feel truly wild.
