About This Property
Azura Benguerra Island is a boutique beach lodge set on the pristine shores of Benguerra Island in Mozambique's Bazaruto Archipelago — a protected marine national park with some of the finest snorkelling and diving in the Indian Ocean.
Twenty luxury beach villas are scattered along the beachfront, each individually designed with a blend of Mozambican craftsmanship and contemporary comfort. Villas feature private plunge pools, outdoor showers, thatched roofs, and direct beach access. The Presidential Villa is a standalone three-bedroom retreat with its own staff.
The marine life here is extraordinary: whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, humpback whales (in season), and five species of sea turtle. The archipelago's crystal-clear waters and pristine coral reefs are among the least-visited in the world.
Why We Love It
Benguerra is the tropical island paradise that Instagram dreams about — except it's real, and it's virtually empty. The villas are gorgeous, the snorkelling is world-class, and the seafood (pulled from the ocean that morning) is extraordinary. Azura's community-focused approach means your stay directly supports the local village.
