About This Property
Lemala Wildwaters Lodge has ten suites on a 6.5-hectare island of riverine forest in the middle of the Nile in Uganda. You arrive by canoe, your guide steering past rocks and rapids, then walk through green jungle full of birdsong and calling fish eagles.
It’s an adventure base for water lovers. We go white-water rafting on wild or mild sections, kayaking, jet boating, fishing and horse riding, and the brave can try a bungee jump. Guided walks and birding are gentler options.
Why We Love It
We love the granite pool carved out above the rapids, and the romance of a claw-foot bath and a veranda day bed with the river roaring past. There’s a honeymoon suite, a day spa and a library for slower days.
