Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway sits on the edge of a cliff above the Sterkstroom River, in a quiet corner of the Welgevonden Game Reserve. The 36,000 ha reserve in the Waterberg is malaria-free and home to the Big Five, and it is only about three hours from Johannesburg.
Look out for aardwolf and aardvark as well as the big game.
Between drives there are massages, wine tastings from the lodge cellar, an infinity pool and lunch on the deck overlooking the escarpment.
