About This Property
Chikwenya is a seasonal camp, open April to November, in an exclusive-use area on the eastern edge of Mana Pools National Park. Mahogany and albida trees surround it, with views across the Zambezi and its floodplains to the Rift Valley escarpment.
We have the river, the Sapi, Chikwenya Island and the woodlands almost to ourselves for drives and walks, with buffalo and elephant herds, hippo, lion, wild dog, leopard and zebra.
Why We Love It
We love the river: sunset cruises, pontoon and canoe outings to big game at the water’s edge, and birds like Livingstone’s flycatcher and eastern nicator. Photographers are spoilt.

Canvas suites on low decks linked by raised walkways, with a lounge, small veranda and indoor and outdoor showers. There’s also a desk, roll-down blinds, mosquito nets, charging points and a tea station.
