About This Property
Amalinda is an award-winning boutique lodge built against the granite boulders of the Matobo Hills, a World Heritage Site. It’s surrounded by Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe’s oldest protected area, at 44,500 hectares.
Wooded valleys and grassland weave between balancing rocks and deep caves. We drive and walk with a guide, track rhino and find San rock art in the caves.
Why We Love It
We love the infinity pool tucked into a granite hollow and a massage beside a sun-warmed boulder. Dinner is at the Captain’s Table, made from railway sleepers laid in the late 1800s.

Who It's For
Travellers who want rhino on foot, San rock art and granite scenery more than a high-density Big Five camp. Couples and honeymooners in the Rhodes or Lobengula suites. Families in the three-bedroom Home Stead. Walking guests who can manage steps and uneven rock. Not a classic predator-volume safari.
Best Time to Visit
Open all year (; Dry months, roughly May to October, usually suit rhino tracking and walking on the kopjes. Summer rains green the hills and can make rock paths slippery. Confirm trail conditions after heavy rain.
