About This Property
Osero Serengeti Luxury Tented Camp is a boutique safari camp set in a private concession bordering Serengeti National Park. With just a handful of spacious canvas tents perched on wooden decks overlooking the endless savannah, this is safari luxury at its most intimate.
Each tent is a masterclass in bush elegance. King-size beds dressed in Egyptian cotton, en-suite bathrooms with hot water showers, private verandas with uninterrupted views across the plains, and the kind of silence that only the African bush can offer. At night, the sounds of the Serengeti take over: lions calling in the distance, hyenas whooping, and the gentle rustle of acacia branches in the wind.
The camp's central mess tent is the social hub; a beautifully appointed space where guests gather for gourmet meals prepared by the camp's private chef, sundowner cocktails as the sky turns amber, and animated conversations about the day's sightings. The food is exceptional by any standard, let alone for a camp in the middle of the Serengeti.
Game drives depart twice daily in open-sided 4×4 vehicles with expert Maasai guides who know every animal, every track, and every secret watering hole. During migration season (June–October), the camp is perfectly positioned to witness the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth.
Why We Love It
Osero strikes that rare balance between genuine luxury and authentic bush immersion. This isn't a concrete lodge pretending to be in the wild, you're sleeping under canvas with nothing between you and the Serengeti but a zip. Yet the thread count on the sheets would rival any five-star hotel, the food is extraordinary, and the guides are among the best we've encountered anywhere in East Africa.
What truly sets it apart is the exclusivity. With so few tents, you never feel like you're sharing the experience with a crowd. Your game drive is your game drive. Your sundowner spot is yours alone. It's the kind of place that reminds you why you fell in love with Africa in the first place.

Things to Do
Game drives: Twice daily in open-sided Land Cruisers with expert guides. The central Serengeti offers year-round big cat sightings: leopards in the kopjes, lion prides on the plains, and cheetahs hunting at dawn.
Great Migration: From June to October, witness millions of wildebeest and zebra streaming across the plains. The camp repositions during peak migration months for optimal viewing.
Walking safaris: Guided bush walks with Maasai warriors offer an intimate perspective on the smaller wonders of the ecosystem: tracking, birding, and learning about traditional bush knowledge.
Balloon safaris: A once-in-a-lifetime experience floating over the Serengeti at dawn (bookable at additional cost through the camp).
Good to Know
Malaria: The Serengeti is a malaria area. Prophylaxis is strongly recommended. Consult your doctor before travel.
Flights: Most guests fly in via Seronera Airstrip. Book scheduled flights through Coastal Aviation or charter options through your travel agent.
Packing: Soft-sided bags only (15 kg limit on light aircraft). Neutral colours for game drives. Warm layers for early morning drives. Good binoculars are essential.
Connectivity: Limited Wi-Fi available in the main tent area. This is a place to disconnect.
Tipping: Gratuities for guides and camp staff are customary (USD $20–30 per guest per day is a good guideline).
