About This Property

Singita Sweni is the intimate sibling in the Singita concession — just a handful of suites raised on stilts above the Sweni River, tucked into riverine forest in the remote eastern Kruger. The architecture takes its cue from the dens and lairs of the surrounding bush, and floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves the line between suite and wilderness.

With room for only a dozen guests, it is one of the most personal lodges in the park. The soundtrack is running water, hippo and birdsong; the wildlife, on the same 33,000-acre private traverse as Lebombo, is exceptional and exclusive.

Days run on twice-daily game drives, guided walks and slow riverside afternoons, with fully inclusive fine dining, boutique wine tastings and the option of archery or the Singita Cooking School.

Why We Love It

Sweni is for travellers who want the Singita concession at its most private. Six suites means it feels less like a lodge and more like a hidden retreat, which is exactly why it is such a honeymoon favourite.

We love the riverine setting — the deck day beds for sleeping under the stars, dinner for two in the wine cellar, and the easy access to the gallery, spa and ranger centre at the nearby Lebombo village.
