About This Property

Xigera Safari Lodge is a landmark property in the Moremi Game Reserve, at the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta. Rebuilt and reopened after a complete transformation, Xigera (pronounced ‘kee-jera') has quickly become one of the most talked-about luxury safari lodges in Africa.

The lodge features just twelve suites, each a stunning fusion of contemporary African design and traditional Delta architecture. Every suite is elevated on wooden walkways above the seasonal floodplains, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that blur the boundary between inside and out. The interiors showcase works by leading African artists, sculptors, and furniture makers — Xigera is as much a gallery as it is a lodge.

The Okavango Delta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the planet's most extraordinary ecosystems. Depending on the season, you can explore by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), motorboat, on foot, or by open 4×4 vehicle — often all in the same stay.

Why We Love It

Xigera is the lodge that has everything: the Delta's best location, architecture that belongs in a design magazine, game viewing that spans water and land, and a commitment to sustainability (it's 100% solar-powered) that makes you feel good about every moment. The interiors alone are worth the trip — every piece of furniture tells a story.
