About This Property
Mount Gahinga Lodge sits in gardens at the foot of the Virunga Volcanoes, on the edge of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in south-western Uganda. It’s peaceful and secluded, with three extinct volcanoes behind it.
The park has mountain gorillas, rare golden monkeys, misty bamboo forest and the sacred Ngarama Cave, once home to the king of the Batwa. We trek for gorillas, hike up a volcano and meet the Batwa community.
Why We Love It
We love three-course dinners on our own terrace under the night sky, with salad grown locally. The lodge’s activities support the communities around it.
