About This Property
Migration Expeditions is a seasonal camp of six tents in Nxai Pan National Park, out on Botswana’s remote Makgadikgadi. It opens from December to March for one of safari’s best-kept secrets: the zebra migration.
It sits right on the 1,000-kilometre route between Namibia and Botswana, so there’s plenty of predator-and-prey action. We look for big elephant bulls, black-maned Kalahari lions, cheetah, hyena and sometimes leopard, wild dog and brown hyena.
Why We Love It
We love picnic lunches in the shade of Baines’ Baobabs, more than 200 bird species including the summer migrants, and stories round the fire circle at night.
