About This Property
Emboo Camp sits in a riverine forest on a bend of the Talek River, inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve. It is a carbon-neutral eco-lodge, and its game drives run in solar-charged electric Land Rovers and Land Cruisers, so you glide up to sightings without engine noise.
Thatched canvas suites on raised decks have roll-up walls that open onto the river, where hippos grunt below. Out in the reserve, expect elephant and buffalo herds, the big cats and, in season, the Migration.
Back at camp there is an open-air spin gym, a spa, a pool over the river, a photography studio with a quiet workspace, and vegetables from the camp’s own organic garden. Balloon safaris, horse riding, bush walks and Maasai cultural visits are available.
Why We Love It
We love that Emboo proves a Mara safari can be low-impact without feeling worthy. The silent EVs make a real difference at a sighting, and the farm-to-fork food is excellent.
Families are well catered for, with a family suite, children’s activities and tree-planting outings, and the camp partners with the Mara Elephant Project.
