About This Property
Damaraland Camp looks south from the Huab River valley towards the Brandberg. It is a joint venture with the local Torra community and is often cited as one of Namibia’s great eco-tourism success stories.
Game is not concentrated as it is at Etosha, but this is where desert-adapted elephant roam with gemsbok, springbok and ostrich. Lion and black rhino are occasionally seen.
Guided walks, nature drives and trips to Twyfelfontein, a World Heritage Site with ancient rock engravings, fill the days.
Why We Love It
We love the silence and the scenery. Damaraland Camp is deeply rooted in its community, and a sighting of desert elephants against those landscapes stays with you.
It is a natural stop between Etosha and the Skeleton Coast on a Namibian circuit.
