About This Property
Chundukwa River Lodge is an owner-run lodge and horse ranch on the banks of the Zambezi, about 25 km from Livingstone and Victoria Falls. It is close enough to explore the Falls but quiet enough to feel like a hideaway.
Five thatched chalets on stilts are named after local birds and look straight over the river. A three-bedroom cottage with its own pool and staff suits families.
The stables have more than 50 horses for rides along lagoons and riverbanks. Sunset cruises, birding, village visits and trips to the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and Falls round out your stay.
Why We Love It
We love the warmth here. It is a family-run place with home cooking and farm animals for children, and exploring on horseback is a lovely change from vehicles.
The team also backs community and conservation projects, including the Chundukwa Foundation and Nakawa Community Academy.
