Bayethe Tented Lodge is in Shamwari Private Game Reserve, an award-winning, malaria-free reserve that feels like an extension of the Garden Route. Five of South Africa’s seven biomes meet here, so plant and animal life is remarkably varied, Big 5 included.
We drive by day and night with our own ranger, learning how it all fits together. In between, we watch the waterhole from the deck.
