About This Property
Royal Zambezi Lodge occupies a prime stretch of the Zambezi River on the edge of the Lower Zambezi National Park — one of Africa's last great wilderness areas and a personal favourite of seasoned safari travellers who've done the more famous parks.
The lodge offers a mix of luxury tents and private villas, all facing the Zambezi with views across to the mountains of Zimbabwe's Mana Pools on the opposite bank. The river frontage provides a natural waterhole effect: elephants, buffalo, and hippos are regular visitors to the shoreline directly in front of camp.
What sets the Lower Zambezi apart is the variety of activities: canoe safaris on the Zambezi, catch-and-release tiger fishing, walking safaris, and conventional game drives. The combination of water and land-based activities makes for one of the most diverse safari experiences in Southern Africa.
Why We Love It
The Lower Zambezi is the insider's choice — seasoned safari travellers consistently rank it among their favourite parks. Canoeing past elephants and hippos on the Zambezi is genuinely thrilling.
