About This Property
Lemala Ngorongoro is nine tents in an acacia grove just off the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, in a spot few other vehicles use. The descent road is only five to ten minutes away, so we’re often first onto the Crater floor in the morning, when it’s quietest and the game is best.
The Crater is one of East Africa’s finest Big 5 reserves, with superb game all year. We add scenic drives, picnics, sundowners and guided walks with Maasai warriors.
Why We Love It
We love the homely mess tent with its big sofas and bookshelf, and the evenings when the local Maasai community dance, sing and share their stories. Dinners with a nature expert at the table mean there’s always plenty to talk about.
