About This Property
Kifaru House is an exclusive lodge of five thatched cottages on lush, bird-filled lawns in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, with views across the plains to Mount Kenya. Lewa was once a cattle ranch and is now a World Heritage Site and a model of community-led conservation.
It’s home to Kenya’s biggest rhino population, black and white, alongside the Big 5 and rare Grevy’s zebra. We go on drives and guided walks, meet the anti-poaching tracker dogs at Conservation HQ and visit Samburu homesteads.
Why We Love It
We love breakfast on the terrace while animals drink at the waterhole, then a swim in the heated infinity pool facing Mount Kenya. Log fires and a great library make the evenings just as good.
