About This Property
Fothergill Island sits on the shore of Lake Kariba, where the lake meets the floodplains and mopane woodland of Matusadona National Park. It is an under-canvas camp that pairs a classic tented safari with a light, modern style. The suites are done in soft olive, lily pink, turquoise and yellow.
You explore on foot, by vehicle and by boat. Sunset cruises on the lake are a highlight, and fly fishing, birding, stargazing and archery fill the gaps between drives. About 95% of the camp’s energy comes from solar power.
Why We Love It
We love the mix of water and bush, with game drives and walks in Matusadona and fishing and sunset cruises on Lake Kariba.
The camp has age-appropriate children’s activities, but its private Island Suites also make it a strong honeymoon choice.
