About This Property
We love how tucked away Askiesbos feels. The camp sits under a canopy of indigenous trees on the banks of the Okavango River at Samochima, near Shakawe, looking over the papyrus swamps of the Okavango Delta Panhandle.
There are only five luxury tents on decks, a lounge overlooking the marshes, a boma with a bar and a kitchen turning out homely meals, so it never feels busy.
Why We Love It
Each tent is different. The River Tent has a king-size bed and a shower with a view, another has a fireplace and a balcony over the papyrus, and the two forest tents are quiet spots where bushbuck and vervet monkeys wander past.
It is a local family business with deep roots in the area, and the hosts can link you to birding, boating, fishing, sunset cruises, scenic flights and trips to the Tsodilo Hills rock art.
