Overview
Crescent Island Game Sanctuary is a private sanctuary on a peninsula in Lake Naivasha, in Kenya’s Rift Valley. When the lake is high, it becomes an island.
The sanctuary has no large predators, so visitors can walk with a guide among the animals.
Most people reach Crescent Island by boat from the lodges on the lake shore, and combine the walk with a boat trip to see hippos.
Wildlife & Biodiversity
Wildlife
Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, impala and gazelles live in the sanctuary.
Lake life
Hippos, fish eagles, pelicans and many other waterbirds are seen around the shore.
